Decorating your child’s room opens up a whole new world of exciting design possibilities. Whether it’s a girl’s room, a boy’s bedroom or a nursery – you need to think carefully about the room’s design so you’re able to turn it into a place your child will love to spend time in.  We’ve put a list together of the all important things to consider – whatever age they are….

  • Room to grow

When decorating, keep in mind that children grow up so fast – what they love will continue to change, and as they accumulate more “stuff” – you’ll have to invest in more grown up furniture. Modular furniture is a good idea to invest in, because it’s flexible enough to make the most of the space – and can be added to or rearranged as your child grows. Strength and durability is also important so be sure to choose furniture that you think will last.

  • Go for a bold colours

Instead of Barbie pink paint or wallpaper full of cars on it – pick something a little more sophisticated. It makes good financial sense to pick a mutual colour that will last from toddler to teens.

  • Set aside a study area

As your children get older, they’ll soon need a separate place to do homework. Plan this space so that when your child becomes a teenager they’ll have zones for lounging and studying as well as sleeping. Adding a desk and chair to the corner of their room will instantly turn that corner into a small study zone.

Depending on the age of your child and the size of their bedroom, will depend on the way you can decorate their space. Just be sure to keep these three all-important tips in mind to get to most out of their room.
